MOA Kluster

The MOA Cluster was established after our group of like minded principals attended an Apple Education Bus Tour with Stewart Hale. Stewart challenged us to do something with our new learning and insights, and provided us with some welcome thinking time to plan together. This was the singular turning point for our collective schools. This initial dialogue led to a commitment to work collaboratively to introduce an Apple platform into our previously Windows based schools. We engaged Stuart Hale for shared professional learning for our teachers, sourced funding for devices, and compiled our inaugural Three Year Strategic Plan, which is now annually updated as we achieve our goals. This is a small innovative cluster, which enables us to respond quickly to change and innovation. The principals continue to lead the initiative and take a hands-on role in being part of the change. In 2015 and 2018, we sourced considerable funding to attend the ISTE conferences in the United States, this was another turning point for us. We mixed with 120,000 educators, presenters, and advertisers and it further opened our eyes to the world beyond our small communities. Unfortunately we were to attend in 2020, but due to Covid 19, we had to withdraw. This is a vibrant cluster, and we challenge one another, while remaining extremely collaborative. This is a rare quality in today’s competitive education sector.
